Amy was born on November 1, 1965. Her parents are Jerry and Nell Barnard. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1984. She met the love of her life, David Tapp, while working at Furr’s Cafeteria. Later, she was employed by Ponca City Public Schools, working at Union Elementary School for 17 years.

Amy enjoyed a good cup of coffee, good friends and reading, particularly authors, Stephen King and James Patterson. She enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted fan of OSU, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Dallas Cowboys. She will be remembered for her work ethic, great sense of humor, positive outlook and quiet strength.

Amy was a lover of all animals. She loved the fur babies she had in the past (Sammi, Mooch and Sophie) and especially the ones she had now (Princess, Chase and Cocoa).

She is survived by her mother, partner, and three sisters, Terry Moore and John of Whitehouse, Texas, Cindy Semones and Joe of Dallas, Texas, Toni Essary of Richardson, Texas.

Her father preceded her in death.

We are extremely grateful to the doctors and nurses at St. Francis Hospital for their compassionate care.
