Fairland, Okla. Karen L. Bailey, age 74, of Fairland, Oklahoma, a former Bartlesville resident, passed away at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo.

Karen was born July 18, 1938 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and moved to Fairland four years ago from Galena, Kansas. She was a Homemaker. Karen was a member of the Cherokee Indian Tribe.

Survivors include a daughter, Belinda Matthiesen and husband Marc, Montgomery, Texas; a son, Scott Logan, Providence, Rhode Island; her father, Ollen A. Stevens, Ft Myers, Florida; a sister, Marlys Mehl, Jay, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Mitchell Logan Matthiesen and Mallory Laine Matthiesen; a great granddaughter, Mea Nicole Matthiesen; and her dear friend, Jim Mehl, Fairland, Okla.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin, Mo. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
