Susan Jean Anderson, age 63, long-time resident of Ponca City passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects from 1-8pm Sunday, May 20 at the funeral home. A funeral ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, May 21, 2018 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Pastor Michael Taylor officiating. Following the ceremony, Susan will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Susan was born on June 26, 1954 to James Dewey Hall and Betty Jean McDaniel Hall in Ponca City. She was raised in Ponca City, graduating from high school in 1972. After high school, Susan attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, earning a bachelor’s degree. Following college, she began dating Tom Anderson and they were married on June 1, 1979 in Ponca City. Susan was a teacher first in Binger, OK, then Western Heights in OKC, followed by Marland, OK, finally teaching Jr. High math in Ponca City. Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail helped greatly around the house, in her work as a teacher, and a supporter of the family business at the Dixie Dog. She had a passion for serving the Lord and was a resolute member of her Bible study group, helped with Vacation Bible School each summer, and taught children about Christ by leading the Team Kids program at church. She enjoyed staying in touch with friends and always had a love for traveling. Above all, Susan found her greatest joy in caring for and spending time with her family and “the boys” Frankie and Murray.

Susan is survived by husband, Tom Anderson; Sister, Peggy Hammons and husband Doug; Children, Ashley Magnus and husband Shane, James Anderson and wife Jessica, Larry Anderson all of Ponca City, OK, and Jerry Anderson and wife Sally of Glenpool, OK. Nine grandchildren, Wesley, Kayla, Thomas, Lily Wyatt, Zoe, Addison, Miles, and Max.; Great-grandchild, Allison Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, James and Betty Hall; and Brothers, Jerry Hall and J.D. Hall.

Casket bearers will be Matthew Anderson, Brian Anderson, Jason Hall, Shane Magnus, Wesley Anderson, and Jack Anderson.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 218 S. 6th St., Ponca City, OK.

The family will be at the home of Ashley Magnus, 2717 Wintergreen in Ponca City.
