June 27, 1936 - March 4, 2019

Emily D. McClung, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, in Wichita, KS.

Emily was born June 27, 1936, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of George Howard Lang and Avril Randel Lang. Emily graduated from PoHi with the class of 1954. She met Ralph at East Jr. High and they were married September 4, 1954, in the First Methodist Church in Ponca City. They just celebrated their 64th anniversary. Emily was active in many organizations, including DAR and Ponca City Genealogy Society. As well, she was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, attending the Disciples Sunday School class. Earlier in life, Emily served as PTA president at Washington elementary school when her daughters attended. Emily was loved by all her neighbors and was always willing to help them out. She also loved working jig saw puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren. Ralph and Emily have lived in Ponca City all of their lives.

Survivors include: her beloved husband Ralph of the home, daughters: Velma Leyva of California, Brenda Mooney and husband Dennis of Ponca City, Meredith Mott and husband Jeff of Woodward, OK and Anisa Minnick and husband Brent of Lakewood, CO., as well as ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home from 4-8pm Wednesday, March 6 and 8am-8pm Thursday, March 7, 2019. A funeral ceremony to celebrate Emily's life will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 8, 2019, in the Worship Center at First Baptist Church in Ponca City. Following the ceremony, Emily will be laid to rest in the Oak Grove Section at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be her grandsons: Scott Sherrod, Zac Mott, Julian Sherrod, Bryce Mott, Clark Harrison, Taylor Mooney and Jadon Minnick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Emily's memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 218 S. 6th St., Ponca City, 74601 or the Opportunity Center, 2225 N. Union, Ponca City, OK 74601.
