Gladys Jenkins~~~1910-1976

NEWKIRK - Mrs. Gladys L. Jenkins, 65, 401 North Jay Street, Newkirk, died Saturday afternoon at William Newton Memorial Hospital, Winfield, Kan.
She was born Sept. 18, 1910 near Crescent, Okla. and lived in that area till her marriage to Elmer Jenkins at Perry Nov. 8, 1930.
They established their home in Newkirk and have resided there since that time. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newkirk.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer of the home; one son, Jerold Dean, Newkirk; four daughters, Mrs. Julius (Betty) Rademacher, Mrs. Johnnie (Dorothy) Pappan, both of Arkansas City, Mrs. Chester (Freda) Fast, Mansfield, Tex.; and Mrs. Bruce (Janet) Pappan, Ponca City; one brother, Cecil McCall, Arkansas City; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Bennett, Oakland, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, sister, two children and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Evans T. Moseley, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery under direction of Stahl Funeral Service. The casket will be closed at the service but friends may call at the funeral home until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
