June 4, 1945 - August 16, 2025

James "Jim" Lee Goad, 80, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on August 16, 2025, at his home. A graveside service will be held at Newkirk Cemetery, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 10:00AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Jim was born on June 4, 1945, in Newkirk, Oklahoma, to Jesse Glen Goad and Wynona Pauline (Goddard) Goad. Jim attended Newkirk High School. On September 6, 1992, he married Becky (Porter) Goad in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served in the U.S. Navy. Jim was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. Jim loved to fish, especially at Fairfax Lake, where he once caught a 72-pound fish on a rod and reel.

He is survived by his spouse, Becky (Porter) Goad of the home; his children, Scott Goad of Ark City, Kansas, Steven Goad of Garfield, Arkansas, Jennifer Shurtz of Ark City, Kansas, Mark Revels of Norman, Oklahoma, Alicia Roach of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Rhonda McConnell of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Burlin Looney of Fairfax, Oklahoma, and Verlin Looney of Fairfax, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his siblings, Ron Goad of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Marsha Spangler of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Augusta Bray Rutherford of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Susan Jay Barnes of Ark City, Kansas, along with 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Wynona Goad, his brother, John Goad, and sister, Glenda Rhynard.
