September 18, 1936 - January 4, 2022

Julia A. Dunn, 85, of Newkirk, OK, left this life on January 4, 2022, at Via Christi Village. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Newkirk Church of Christ, with Pastor Scott Dutton officiating. A private burial will take place at Newkirk Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Julia was born on September 18, 1936, in Newkirk, OK to Herbert and (Alta Rozelle) Pulliam. She married Mitch Dunn in 1955, in Newkirk. She lived in Blackwell until 1968 when they moved to South West Kansas. In 1987, she moved back to Newkirk. Julia was a homemaker and ran a home daycare for many years. She later worked in a bakery and at the Newkirk nursing home. She was also a Brownie Scout leader for 20 years.

Julia enjoyed arts and crafts, baking (especially desserts) and playing the guitar. Julia also liked watching OU football, camping, traveling, reading and crossword puzzles. Julia was a member of the Church of Christ, Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers and was active in Girl Scouts. She loved spending time with the family and enjoyed talking to people. She never met a stranger.

Julia is survived by: daughters, Penny Dunn and her husband, Jerry, of Lakin, KS and Patti Ballagh, of Ponca City, OK; grandchildren, Micah Dunn and his wife, Trish, of North Platte, NE, Amy Ball and her wife, Jess, of Sublette, KS; great-grandchildren, Miles, Mason & Lilly Dunn, of North Platte, NE, Briar Ball of Sublette, KS; sister-in-law, Delores Pulliam of Guthrie, OK and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marion Pulliam, Leon Pulliam; infant daughter, Pamela Sue Dunn and son-in-law, Jim Ballagh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newkirk Church of Christ, 328 N Main St, Newkirk, OK 74647.
