November 13, 1937 - May 8, 2019

Ervin W. "Sonny" Payne longtime Ponca City resident passed away Wednesday evening, May 8, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was 81 years of age. Ervin was born November 13, 1937 in Ponca City, OK to Ervin W. Payne and Henrietta Barton Payne.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor David Bosworth officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening, May 10, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will follow in the Longwood Cemetery under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.

Ervin lived in Ponca City all his life. He had numerous jobs over the years - including Welding for NASA, Continental Carbon and ran his own salvage with partner Kenny Woolsey. He married Vela Payne on November 15, 2003 and made their home in Ponca City, OK.

Ervin enjoyed camping, fishing, various home projects, spending time with family and had a way with roses.

Survived by: Wife of the home - Vela Payne, Sons; Terry Payne , Donnie Chavers, Daughters; Linda & Steve Harger, Debbie & Bob Williams, Gail & Alan Hazen, Beth & David Linton. Grandchildren Ashley Payne, Jacob Morland, Tina Hunt, Shallon Hand, Austin Linton, Casey Linton and 8 Great Grandkids - Bladen Colvin, Landry Sizemore, Kamryn Morland, Dayton Rickman, Jesse ""Jr"" Hand, Matalie, Hayzlie & Raylie Linton.

Preceded in death by his mom - Henrietta "Pete" Ward and Dad Ervin Payne, Sister - Glenna Payne, Wife Carol Payne & Daughter Patricia Payne.
