Candy Jo Hurst, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008 in Ponca City. She was 40.

Candy was born the daughter of Max Hale and Georgie Mae Murphy on July 10, 1968 in Liberal, Kansas. At a young age she moved to Guymon, Oklahoma where she attended school. She later moved to Ponca City in 1988 where she worked at the Opportunity Center and the Ponca City News office. She currently worked out of Stillwater, Oklahoma in Home Health Care. She married Dwayne Hurst on May 24, 2004.
She enjoyed being with family and friends, watching the Special Olympics and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Dwayne, Ponca City; son, Cody Hale, Ponca City; mother, Georgie, Ponca City; sisters, Laurie Thomson, Guymon, Oklahoma, Jodi Hale, Omaha, Nebraska and Connie Darcia, Liberal, Kansas; brother, Terry Hale, Ponca City; half brothers, Cliften Hale, Olathe, Kansas and Doug Baldridge, Olathe, Kansas; step brother, Tyrone, Oklahoma; five nieces and six nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Max; sister, Tonye Hale and one brother in law.
