December 3, 1930 - July 8, 2021

Barbara Harris, age 90, made the transition from this world surrounded by her loving family on July 8th, 2021. Barbara was born in Ponca City, OK on December 3rd, 1930 to Jess and Thelma (Krebs) Reeves, and grew up in her family home with her sister, Janet Erhart (Reeves). During childhood and adolescence, Barbara attended Ponca City Public Schools and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1948, before marrying Laile Harris on April 15th, 1949. Together, they raised a beautiful and loving family for 57 years, until Laile’s passing in 2006. After the birth of their two children, Stacy and Teresa, Barbara stayed home to raise them. As an avid dog lover, she then took a job as the manager of Lakeside Animal Hospital, where she stayed for many years until moving with Laile to Singapore from 1981 to 1985.

Barbara was a kind and generous woman who loved games, gardening, entertaining, and feeding people. There was rarely a time when she wasn’t preparing a dish to share with her loved ones, and hardly a visit passed when she didn’t offer a meal to those who walked through her door, whether it was at her home in Oklahoma City, or at her family cabin at Kaw Lake, where she and her family enjoyed many wonderful days together. Along with her superior level of hospitality, she will be remembered for her impeccable wit, dry humor, her cheerful laugh, and her meticulously-kept calendars.

She is survived by her children, Stacy Harris and Christena Harris (Gardner), and Teresa Krepps (Harris) and Jack Krepps, her niece Tracy Smith, nephew Brad Smith, cousins Don and Helen Reeves, as well as her grandchildren Billy, Jimmy, Eric, Jeremy, Michele, and Monty, and great-grandchildren Brittany, Tiffany, Hailey, Kyan, Bo, Noah, Etta, and Evie.

Graveside Ceremony will be 11:30am, Tuesday July 13, 2021, at Longwood Cemetery. Those unable to attend the Funeral Ceremony, may attend virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com and click on the live-stream or toolbar icon on the top right corner after 11:15AM.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
