Ibrah Lavanda Garrett, age 87, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on May 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on September 24, 1937, in Woodville, Oklahoma, Lavanda spent her life rooted in the values of hard work, Faith and Family. She lived and worked on farms throughout her life, embodying resilience and dedication in all she did. A woman of quiet strength and gentle spirit, she was deeply devoted to her Faith and lived as a proud Christian, drawing on her belief as a constant source of Hope and Love.

Lavanda had a deep love for crafting, singing, and caring for animals, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her loved ones especially her grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and creativity touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents James & Ruth Bales, sisters Peggy, Cozetta & Patsy, sister-in-law Sandy, a beloved niece Cheryl and her grandson Skylar. She now joins them in eternal rest.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be carried on by her sister Judy, brothers James & Kurtis, three children Vonda, Jodie (Bo) & Billy (Mary), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews - all of whom were blessed by her presence in their lives.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Friday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Longwood Cemetery, where Lavanda will be laid to rest beside her parents.

Her life was a testament to Love, Strength and Faith, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
