Obituary

Graveside services for Russell Lynn Bemo, 74, Ponca City resident, will be held at 11am Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the Longwood Cemetery with Pastor Tom Howard officiating. Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2023 at Community Christian Church of Ponca City. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Russell was born on April 28, 1949 in Wewoka, Oklahoma, the son of George Herbert Bemo, Sr. and Della Belle Jesse Bemo, and passed away on June 9, 2023 in Tulsa. He was raised in Wewoka, Konawa, Sasakawa. He was a member of Spring Baptist Church of Sasakawa active with the youth group. . He was an ordained minister from OBU. Russell received his Master's Degree from OU. He married Karen Sue Morrison in Oklahoma City in 1977. He worked as a supervisor for the Office of Juvenile Affairs retiring after 35 years of service. He was an avid OU Sooner fan. He trained horses and rode bulls.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of the residence; Sons, Cody Bemo (Laci), Kyle Bemo; Daughter, Jessica Bemo-Deweese; Grandaughter's, Ashley Whitmire, Tessa Deweese. Sister's, Georgia Bemo Sisney, Debra Bemo Lozier; Brother in law, Larry Morrison; Sister in law, Sharon Eubank (David) & numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by Parents Della Belle Bemo, George Herbert Bemo Sr; Brother, George Herbert Bemo Jr; Mother In law, Lavern Morrison, Father In law Elbie Morrison. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
