Donna Jo (Parker) Havens

Donna P. Havens passed into the comfort of Jesus arms on January 1, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. A long time Ponca City resident; she was born in Kaw City, OK on August 5, l930 to Charles & Hazel (Cassity) Parker.
She was known as Donna Jo to family and friends growing up. She graduated from Kaw City, then going on to Business School in Ponca City. She was a devoted mother & grandmother. She had a great love of family and always looked forward to getting together when possible. She loved to travel - enjoying an annual Branson trip each fall. Also the Sunday gathering of Memorial weekend in Kaw City was very important to her. She grew up dancing to Bob Wills & Leon McAuliff; later dancing at the Status Quo & 101. She was a very strong woman, having many obstacles to conquer in her life. Her motto was : " I'm like unsinkable Molly Brown - I'm not down yet". She also loved cardinals which reflected her bright spirit.
She is preceded in death by her son Kevin Scott Smith; parents Charles & Hazel Parker, siblings Benny Parker; Charlene Goodwin; & Wini Ransom and niece Vicki Breeden.
She is survived by her daughter Jeri D. Bassett & son-in-law Jerry; four precious grandchildren - Joiya Marie Smith, Juliet Elise Smith, Jordan Evan Scott Smith and Nathan Wayne Bassett. brother Jim Parker ( Roberta ); daughter-in-law Sierra Gray (Dave); sister-in-law Norma Smith; close cousin Joni Thompson; nieces & nephews: Linda Howard; Robyn Goodwin; Tom Taylor; Chris Taylor; Theri Ashe; Colette Winston; Brett Parker; Kitti Threlkeld; Tommy Jacobs; Kati Jacobs; Tommy Smith ;Sandra Clapp and Patricia Daley. cousin Mary Colby and many other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in all those who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Kaw City United Methodist Church with her nephew, Elder Chris Taylor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery. Casket bearers will be; Kati Jacobs, Tommy Jacobs, Tommy Smith, David Clapp, Carl Daley and Joe Colby.
