Alma Ake Carr of Ponca City passed away Friday morning, January 11, 2019 in Oklahoma City with her loving family by her side. She was 86 years of age. Alma was born on July 9, 1932 in Turtle Lake, North Dakota to John Waltz and Christina Weible Waltz.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the Chapel at Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tom Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery Kaw City, OK Visitation will be Wednesday January 16, 2019 from 8 am to 8 p.m.at Grace Memorial Chapel. Family has asked memorial donations made to the American Cancer Society in her name.

Alma came to Kay county at a young age and she worked for Lindsey Manufacturing for over 20 years. Alma married Everett Ake in May of 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1978. She met Ron Carr and they were married in Kay County on December 30, 1983 and made their home in Ponca City, OK. Alma was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and she enjoyed sewing and spoiling her grandchildren.

Alma is survived by her husband Ron of 35 years, 1 daughter Connie Cobb of Ponca City, OK 3 sons: John Ake of Rogers, AR, James Ake and wife Charlotta of Excelsior Springs, Missouri Mark Ake and wife Tamara of Ponca City, OK 2 brothers; Gus Waltz of New York and Billy Waltz and wife Jerry of California, 2 sisters Bertha Rath of Bismarck, ND and Emma Jean Leacy of Fargo, ND also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Everett and her daughter in law Shelley Ake in 2011.
