May 17, 1963 - June 18, 2025

Jimmy Wayne Hawkins passed away June 18, 2025, in Wichita, KS. Jimmy was born May 17, 1963, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to parents Glenn and Rose Hawkins.

Funeral service for Jimmy will be held at The Shidler School Auditorium in Shidler, Oklahoma on July 3rd, 2025, at 2:00pm with Pastor Dennis Wildman officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, Oklahoma. Services are in the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, Oklahoma. There will be a celebration of life dinner held in Apperson afterwards.

Jimmy was a man with service in his heart. He served as the unofficial mayor of Apperson, Oklahoma for many years taking care of the area. He was a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Sarge Creek Volunteer Fire Department for many years and enjoyed his time fighting fires with close friends, and taking care of his community. Jimmy loved to spend his time gardening, cutting hay, raising cattle, and fishing with his kids and grandkids. He was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Charlie Vap of Apperson, Oklahoma, Ashleigh Hawkins (Matt) of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Spencer Hawkins of Apperson, Oklahoma, Lydia Allmond (William) of Raytown, Missouri, Cory Rausch (Misti) of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Jake Rausch (Hallie) of Goddard, Kansas; his sisters, Joyce Johns (Mike) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Barbara Miller (David) of Chandler, Oklahoma, Kathy Dowler (Jim) of Newkirk, Oklahoma, and Terri Bradley (Wade) of Apperson, Oklahoma; his numerous grandchildren, nieces , nephews, and his girlfriend Tammy Christianson of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Jimmy was preceded in death by both of his parents

Memorial Donations can be made to the Sarge Creek Fire Department.
