Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Church of God for Jesse Monroe Alexander , 78, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Gildhouse on North Pine about 5:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. T. B. Ussery was in charge and burial was made in the cemetery at Banner by the Weber Funeral Home.

The deceased had lived in the Newkirk community for many years having lived west of the city for some time before moving into town.

He is survived by two sons, John and Tiney and by the one daughter, Mrs. Gildhouse, all of Newkirk. Mrs. Alexander died about 17 years ago.
