Dorla Idonna Dean McDonald Gideon passed away peacefully in Ponca City, OK on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the age of 84, following a lengthy illness.

Idonna was born in Blackwell, OK September 28, 1932. She attended Blackwell schools and was married to Lenard A. McDonald for sixty years until his death. Together, they had two sons, Junior A. & Leon L. McDonald.

Idonna and Leland Gideon were united in marriage on December 31, 2008 and shared a happy 8 years and 8 months together. They made their home in Ponca City and were active at the Ponca City Senior Citizens center and enjoyed dancing, dining and activities at the center where they made many, many friends.

Idonna was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who was affectionately known as "Dodi" to many. She lived in Braman, OK for over forty years and participated in many community events and associations. She was active in OSU Extension Homemakers Association, Oklahoma Home and Community Education group, and Kay County Fair.

Survivors include her husband, Leland Gideon of the home, son, JR McDonald and wife, Joneela of Ponca City, step-son, Mike Gideon and wife,Susan of Ponca City, daughter-in-law Linda McDonald, brothers, Pat, Johnny and Larry; sisters, Vietta (Cookie) and Margaret, grandchildren, Tony, Christy, Scott, Paul, Janna, Jamie, and Scott Fisher, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Noble and Nora Pendland, three siblings, spouse Lenard McDonald, and son Leon McDonald.

A graveside memorial will be conducted at the Braman, OK cemetery on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 1pm for all who would like to attend.

Condolences may be sent to Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice in Idonna's honor.
