William Brownlow Jones was born on September 29, 1924, in Braman, Oklahoma, to Hobart B. and Ruby Marie (Orr) Jones. He grew up in Braman attending Braman Public Schools. Following his graduation he continued his education by attending Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and then Oklahoma A. & M. in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He entered the United States Army Air Force on July 9, 1943, and served until February 10, 1946. Following his discharge he worked for a brief time in the aircraft industry before working as a bookkeeper in the oil industry until his retirement in 1987 in Warrensburg, Missouri. He married Constance (Welling) Ellis on January 8, 1978, in Warrensburg and she preceded him in death. He later moved to Arkansas City, Kansas, to make his home.

He is survived by a step-daughter, Mary Ellis Barry of Walpole, Massachusetts; two sisters, Leva Maxine Morrison of Wichita, Kansas, and Alice Laurita Moore of South Haven, Kansas; and three step-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Edward, Floyd and Cleta Jones.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18th, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Lanny Jobe of the Blackwell Church of Christ officiating. There will be a private family burial in the Braman Cemetery.

A memorial has been established at the Blackwell Church of Christ in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
