Pauline Rose Blay passed from this life on May 20, 2026, at the age of 95. An invitation-only, Private Service will be held with Immediate Family. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Pauline was born on November 26, 1930, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Hugh and Mrytle Tickel. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School with the class of 1949. She then attended Northern Oklahoma College where she studied interior design. On September 12, 1952, she married Robert (Bob) E. Blay in the First Christian Church in Blackwell Oklahoma. They moved to Smyrna, Tennessee, where he was stationed while serving in the Air Force. After his service in the Air Force, they returned to Blackwell. He worked as a flight line mechanic for Boeing, Beech and McDonnell Douglas which took the family all over the United States. Wherever the aircraft, the B 52 bomber went the family followed.
Prior to Pauline getting married, she worked at Boeing for a year, working on the B-47 aircraft. Later she worked for several years at the Blackwell Hospital and the Blackwell Nursing Home as a nurses' aid. She also worked at the Blackwell Journal for 4 years. She then worked at Blackwell High School and Blackwell Middle School in the cafeteria for 30 years, retiring at the young age of 92. She enjoyed many family trips to the state parks. Pauline was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family above all else.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Mrytle Tickel; brother James Tickel; grandson, Brandon Blay; great-granddaughter, Alexis Lindsey; and great-grandson, Dillion Engle.
She is survived by her children: Brent and daughter-in-law, Chris; Cheryl and son-in-law, Kenneth Orsburn; Janet and son-in-law, Mark Paul; grandchildren, Robbie Blay and wife Blair, Stephanie Gregory, Scott Blay and wife, Heather, Jack Engle, Shannon Coutre and husband, Isaac, Amber Lucas, Allen Hankla and wife, Faith, Tyrell Wilson and wife, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Tiffany McKown and husband, Rocky, Robbie Blay, McKenzie Fullmer, Michael Lindsey, Lane Lucus, Josh Blay, Kadon Blay, Jacob Blay, Ethan Coutre, Erin Coutre, Emercyn Coutre, Mikayla Abbott, Talon Smith, Shelbee Thompson, Allen Hankla Jr., Gabriel Hankla, Courtney Hankla; great-great-grandchildren, Graham McKown, August McKown, Ramona, and Adrian Smith.
Pauline will be remembered for her kindness and love for her family and the joys she found with spending time with them.
