John E. Wolfe of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday morning, November 12, 2017, at his home at the age of 81 years.

John E. Wolfe was born on February 5, 1936, in Blackwell to George and Mabel (Bridges) Wolfe. He grew up on a farm southeast of Blackwell and attended Excelsor School before attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduating from Blackwell High School in 1954. He assisted his family with their farming operation and also with Wolfe Grocery. He later worked as a custom harvester. On April 9, 1960, he married Thomasene Jane Bridges in Blackwell and to this union came four sons. John later worked for Weaver Well Service before working as a tool pusher for Shebester-Bechtel Well Service in Blackwell until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the First Christian Church and sometimes attended First Free Will Baptist Church with family. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping and cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the Oklahoma Sooners. He also enjoyed cars and watching various NASCAR events.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Thomasene Wolfe of Blackwell; four sons, T. G. Wolfe and wife Misty of Blackwell, J. D. Wolfe and wife Kristi of Bartlesville, Rusty Wolfe and wife Sindi of Blackwell, and Matt Wolfe and wife Tiffany of Blackwell; a sister, Chloe Ann McKaig of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Annie Wolfe, Morgan Smith, Megan Hutton and Kyler Wolfe; five step-grandchildren, Derek Meadows, Kyle Wolfe, Sydney Scott, Delaney Ballard and Noah Ballard; and great-grandchildren, Karly Meadows, Louden, Kyrin, Kroy, and Jayda Wolf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Wanda Mae Childers; and a great grandson, Larrick Wolfe.

A memorial service is scheduled of 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 17th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with Rev. Jeff Koch officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Serving as honorary casketbearers will be the employees of Shebester-Bechtel Well Service.
