Edith Mae Wieland of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, October 30, 2014, in the Ponca City Nursing Home at the age of 83 years.

Edith Mae Wieland was born on December 8, 1930, in Blackwell to Charles Neptune and Alice Mae (Van Etten) Wagher. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1948. Following her education she married Edward Patrick Wieland on July 3, 1948, in Newkirk and they settled in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1962 they moved to Ponca City to make their home and she worked in the Conoco cafeteria for a short time. She also sold Avon for fifteen years. Her husband preceded her in death in 2000 and she continued to make Ponca City her home. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle and enjoyed playing dominos and working in her yard.

She is survived by two daughters, Dana Davis and husband David of Ponca City and Becky Wieland of Billings; two sisters, Evelyn Greer of Oklahoma City and Betty Jo of Iowa; two brothers, Charles Wagher of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Bobby Wagher of Wichita, Kansas; two grandchildren, Chad Davis and wife Michelle of Ponca City and Cassey Wooding and husband Brian of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and four great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 3rd in the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Don Stanton of Faith Tabernacle officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her honor with Faith Tabernacle in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
