Naomi Fern West of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died on November 11, 2016, in her residence at the age of 70 years.

Naomi Fern West was born on May 2, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to John Calvin and Lorena (Scott) West, Sr. She attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1964. When she turned 18, she moved to California to work with traveling evangelist Ethel Hooke. She traveled with her around North America and that is where she started her florist career. She attended several florist schools and became a certified florist and instructor. She owned Billie’s Flowers and Chrystal Rose in Oklahoma City. She helped decorate the Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion holidays, all decorating for Miss Black Oklahoma pageants for several years, parties, banquets and her church. She also enjoyed making jewelry. She loved spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Amanda Hoggard and husband James, of El Reno, Oklahoma, and Sandy Pratt of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Twila McCleary and husband Doug of Blackwell, Oklahoma; one brother, John Calvin West Jr. and wife Lavanda of Fletcher, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Scott , Carlee and Isabell Tiemann of El Reno, Oklahoma, Brooklyn and Elizabeth Hoggard of El Reno, Oklahoma, Josh, Derek and Chris Bradford of Wichita, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Bethesda Assembly of God Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. David Reddick, Lonnie Rutherford and Jarod Schoultz officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery.

Honorary casketbearers will be Doug McCleary, Josh Bradford and Derek Bradford. Casketbearers will be Scott Tiemann, James Hoggard, Shane McCleary, John West III, Micheal McCleary, Jozeph Johnson.

A memorial has been established with the Bethesda Assembly of God Church c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
