Blackwell, OK. -- The funeral for Junior George Waggoner, 76, was August 27, 2005, at Roberts & Sons Funeral Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Gary Moody of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church conducting the service. Burial was in Blackwell Cemetery. He died August 23, 2005 at his home in Blackwell, OK.

He was born January 25, 1929 in Anthony, KS. to Daniel "Dorsey" and Lillian Ogle Ford Waggoner. He grew up on a farm in the Waldron, KS. community and attended grade school at Spring school near Anthony, KS. He graduated from Anthony High School in 1947.

In school he participated in basketball, baseball and track. He also played baseball for town teams for many years. He was a farmer, raised cattle, worked in cattle sale rings and was a cattle buyer. He was a member of Kay County Cattlemen's Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Elks Club.

On June 4, 1949, he married Opal Marie Myers in Alva, OK. They lived at Driftwood, OK. and later in Amorita, OK. They had four children, Yvonne Darline, Kirby Lynn, Monty Deon and Vickey Lea Waggoner. On Dec. 11, 1970, he married Evelyn Muret in Kay County, OK. They lived in Capron, OK. and later the Prairie Chapel Community in Kay County. They had three children, Tamera Renee, Kevin Neal and Dustin Verle Waggoner.

He is survived by children, Yvonne Nutsch, El Dorado, KS., Kirby of Atlanta, GA., Monty of Ponca City, OK., Vickey Lea Bartel, El Dorado, KS., Tammie Miller, Cherokee, OK. and Kevin and Dusty, both of Ponca City, OK.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Jack of McPherson, KS., Verla June Armstrong of Anthony, KS., Maxine Etta Phye, Coats, KS., Bernadine May, Enid, OK., Marie Weichring, Wichita, KS., and Mary Lou Waggoner.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Deb, J.C., Benny, and Harold, and three sisters, Rita Carothers, Darline Waggoner and JoAnn Galasha.
