Betty J. Vickers, 81, of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away at her home on March 4, 2020, surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 1, 1939 in Arkansas City, Kansas the daughter of Leslie E. Wineinger and Lola Catherine (Pingry) Wineinger.

Betty married Franklin Skaggs, they later divorced. She married LeRoy Dice, he preceded her in death. She married Jim Vickers in the summer of 1990 in Arkansas City, and they made their home in Blackwell.

Betty was a proud Avon representative for over 35 years. She also worked at TrueValue Hardware in Blackwell for 12 years.

She was a devoted member of First Free Will Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Tonkawa for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Vickers; children, Kathy Conrad (Ron), Jane Thomason (Dan Peden), Eddie Skaggs (Julie), John Dice (Leona); grandchildren, Jimmy Thomason (Brook), Robert Thomason, Jami Thomason, Leslie Thomason (Kenya), Grady Conrad, Cortne Rogers (Cole), Austin Skaggs, Shelby Berglan (Hunter), Hunter Smith, Paige Scott, Kaylee Dice, Jolee Dice, Angel Eaton (Jimmy); and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Diane Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at First Free Will Baptist Church, 209 N. 6th St., Blackwell, with Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating. Burial will follow at Blackwell Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jim Backus, Kendell Looper, Mike Newman, Grady Conrad, Austin Skaggs and Jason Morrill.

Honorary casket bearers will be Betty’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Frank Hiebert and Darrell Cullum.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, sent in c/o the funeral home.
