May 17, 1954 - March 29, 2021

Cleta Fern Bray-Skaggs was welcomed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the age of 67. Her family was by her side until the very end.On May 17th 1954 Thomas Alvie and Cecil Montrilla Pendergraft Bray welcomed the birth of their daughter Cleta Fern Bray in Blackwell, Oklahoma, she was the youngest of seven children.

Cleta attended Blackwell Public Schools, where she met her future husband, Gary Skaggs and on July 12th 1975 they married. They made Blackwell their home for many years. In their life they had five children together. Although things seemed chaotic at times, Cleta seemed to have it all together. Cleta had a great work ethic starting with her first job at Sonic in Blackwell.

Later on in her life she worked at KFC/Taco Bell where she became general manager. She worked there fourteen years when her health forced her to retire. She made the move to Ponca City in 2005 where she volunteered at her local church, Grace Tabernacle of Praise.

Survivors are her loving and devoted husband Gary of Ponca City, three daughters Kristi West, Beverly Tattershall and husband Willard both of Ponca City, Amanda Shuemake and husband Jeremiah of Billings, Ok and one son Jeremy Skaggs and wife Jo Jo of Ponca City Ok. Sisters Bonnie Buxton-Gingerich of Newton, Ks and Wanda Beck and husband Jim of Blackwell,Ok. Seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Cleta was preceded in death by her parents Alvie & Cecil Bray, two brothers Arlie Bray and Ronald Bray, two sisters Mildred Wilson-Smith and Eva Rancier and her son Adam Skaggs.

Service will be at Grace Tabernacle of Praise 1601 E. Coleman Rd. Ponca City, Oklahoma at 11:00 am on Friday, April 2, 2021. with David Cale officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Blackwell Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
