Beverly Ann Simmons was born on October 11, 1941, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Delbert and Ruth Ledoice (Bush) Van Blaricom. As a young girl she moved with her family to Tonkawa where she grew up and graduated from Tonkawa High School in 1959. She furthered her education by attending Northern Oklahoma Junior College. She married Marvin D. Simmons on February 20, 1960, in Blackwell and she began working as a waitress. Following the birth of their first son, she returned to the home to care for her family. While her children were in school, she volunteered at Blackwell Christian Academy. She later worked in housekeeping for Blackwell Regional Hospital. Her husband preceded her in death on August 14, 2001, and she continued to make Blackwell her home until moving to Enid to be near family. She attended The Tabernacle in Blackwell and World Harvest Church in Enid. She enjoyed cooking sweet treats and playing board games and cards. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and volunteering at the church where she sent cards of encouragement to church members. She is survived by two sons, Mike Simmons and wife Lisa of Blackwell and Justin Simmons and wife Carol of Enid; a sister, Janet Leak and husband Lester of Wagoner, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dewayne Van Blaricom and wife Sharon of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Don Van Blaricom of Blackwell; a sister-in-law, Drucella Van Blaricom of Waxahachie, Texas; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Arnold Leon Van Blaricom.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 1st in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
