August 30, 1953 - October 18, 2019

Kenneth Ray Paige, age 66, was reunited with his family in Heaven on Friday, October 18, 2019. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Blackwell Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Pershing officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Kenneth was born on August 30, 1953 to Bob and Vera (Grace) Paige in Minneapolis, Kansas. Kenneth moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma with his parents at an early age and attended Blackwell schools. He graduated from Blackwell High School in 1972 and immediately entered the workforce. His jobs included Smith-Gruners, Roberts & Son Funeral Home and Wal-Mart. He was also a reserved deputy for the Kay County Sheriff's Office for several years. He had a big heart, was one of the good guys and, like his mother, never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers, researching his family tree, his Native American culture and singing in church. In his later years, when he wasn't able to get around as well, he continued his family tree search online and enjoyed playing bingo with his wife.

He was blessed in life to have been given two soulmates. His first wife, Shirley, was his teenage girlfriend. They were married on June 27, 1972 in Blackwell. She preceded him in death on June 4, 1996. There was nothing he wanted more than to be a father, unfortunately it was not the plan, until he was blessed with his second wife, Opal. They were married December 28, 1996. She blessed him with not only love but the opportunity to experience life as a father and papa. And finally, his world was complete when Bryle Scott was born. Bryle was his world and son that he had always longed to have.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Vera Paige; a brother, Bobby James Paige; a niece, Rama Barnes and both of his wives.

He is survived by his pride and joy, Bryle Scott McCannon; sister, Amy Barnes and husband, Daniel of Blackwell; a brother, Terry Paige of Blackwell; a daughter, Tina Lopez and fiancée Dustin of Ponca City; son, Steve Edgar and wife Missy of Waco, Texas, two nieces, Katelynn DeCosta of Ponca City and Kristina Barnes of Blackwell, one nephew, Chris Williams and wife Stephanie of Ft. Worth, Texas, grandchildren, Macy Wilson and husband Louis, Mike Lopez, Jr., Alisha Alvarez and husband David and Josh Edgar, great-grandchildren Michael, Lawson, Laurel, Camden, Mila and Ellie.
