Michael Lee Newton
February 21, 1978 - February 27, 2026
Michael Lee Newton of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the age of 48 years.
Michael was born on February 21, 1978, in Blackwell. He was the son of Mitchell Leon and Kathy Louise (Moss) Newton. He grew up in Blackwell, attending Blackwell Public Schools, and graduated with the Blackwell High School class of 1996. Following his education, he worked several jobs both in and around Blackwell, before becoming disabled.
Michael had two children: a daughter, Kyla Newton; and a son, Michael Newton Jr. He also had one grandson, Myles Cooper. He cared for them deeply, and asked about often. Michael was very kind and courteous - even when he wasn't feeling his best. He liked watching OU Football and Thunder basketball, as well as collecting football, basketball, and baseball trading cards, of which he had thousands. He liked his leather jacket, and listening to any type of music.
He is survived by his father, Mitchell and wife Reba; mother, Kathy; his children: Kyla and Michael Jr.; his grandson, Myles Cooper; his brother, Keith; sister, Kaiya; half-brothers: Chad, Justin, and Joshua; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was especially close to his aunt Carolyn, but loved all his aunts and uncles.
There will be a Public Visitation from 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM, on Saturday, March 7th; and from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 8th at Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service has been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, March 9, 2026, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sam Simmons officiating. Burial to follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Michael was an inspiration to his mom and dad when he faced a very difficult time in his life, and yet still had kindness and love in his heart. He is greatly missed by all of his family.
