Geraldine Mae McBride of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday morning, October 9, 2011, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 78 years.

Geraldine Mae McBride was born on March 9, 1933, in Perry, Oklahoma, to Verl Richard and Minnie (Finley) Wilkerson. She attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1951. She married Joseph Merle Ebert on November 7, 1952, in Wellington, Kansas. She later married Clyde Gaither on September 13, 1983 in Deer Creek, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Robert McBride on March 12, 2005, and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2010. She loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed gardening and considered walking to be her favorite hobby.

Geraldine is survived by a daughter; Kathi Dunham and husband Daryl of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three sons; Joe Merle Ebert and wife Cathey of Medford, Oklahoma, Richard Ebert and wife Tina of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Jon Ebert and wife Connie of Gilroy, California; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12th in the Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell, with Rev. Jeff, Koch of the First Christian Church in Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Erik Dunham, Greg Dunham, Justin Ebert, Derek Ebert, Will Ebert, Sidney Ebert, Felicia Ebert and Jessica Ebert.

The family will be having a time of receiving friends for visitation Tuesday, March 11, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

There will be a reception immediately following the service at 1304 S. 11th, Apt. 402 in the Depot Dwelling.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Wheatheart Nutrition Project, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
