Rita Avila Montanez, 61, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on March 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Viewing will be between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022, and from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Trout Funeral Home. A Rosary Ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 4, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Zak Boazman officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Blackwell Cemetery. Those unable to attend the Funeral Ceremony may attend virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com, and click on the live-stream or toolbar icon on the top right corner after 9:45 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Rita was born on January 6, 1961, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Hilario Montanez Esparza and Maria Elena Barrera de Montanez. She was well known and loved by many. She inspired many by the way she viewed life. Her hugs were one-of-a-kind and her grandchildren were her whole world.

Rita leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Tomas Avila, of Ponca City, OK; sons, Cesar Avila and Erik Avila, both of Beatrice, NB; daughters, Suhey Avila, of Blackwell, OK, and Esmeralda Stieber, of Ponca City, OK and 10 grandchildren.

Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Elena Montanez, brother, Manuel Montanez, and nephew, Daniel Montanez.

Pallbearers will be Erik Avila, Cesar Avila, Jon Stieber, Lorenzo Rascon, Gerardo Gutierrez and Pedro Lopez. Honorary Pallbearer will be her husband, Tomas.
