Mary J. Miller
January 18, 1931 - December 22, 2025
Mary J. Miller, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on December 22, 2025, in Blackwell, at the age of 94 years.
Mary J Miller was born on January 18, 1931, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was the daughter of August and Agnes (Pieper) Meyer. At a young age, she moved with her family to Missouri, where she attended school - graduating from Maryville High School in Maryville, Missouri.
She married W. Ray Miller on February 15, 1950, in Maryville, and they made their home in Blackwell. She worked for Fay's Grocery and Homeland Grocery. Furthermore, she was actively involved in her church, the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In 1979, Ray Miller passed away, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She later had a special friendship with Ray Overbey, until his passing in July 2004. They spent many years traveling together.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Miller.
She was survived by one daughter, Joyce Moreland and husband Frank of Blackwell; three sons, Ken Miller of Arkansas City, Kansas, Ron Miller and wife Deb of Arvada, Colorado, and Barry Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven sisters; one brother; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Casketbearers are Blake Miller, Dawson Miller, Blake Miller, Alex Smith, Jim McKain, Austin Mori, and Rene Martens. Honorary casketbearers include Jacob Miller, Jackson Miller, Frank Meyer, Mark Cordell, Kent Miller, and T.J. Milby.
A Rosary Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Friday, December 26, at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 PM. Father Balaswami Bathini will be officiating.
Burial to follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
