Elmer “Keith” Jeffries went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2017 at the age of 83 years.

Keith Jeffries was born on May 1, 1934, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Edgar Elmer and Frankie Lula (Vannest) Jeffries. He was a graduate of Blackwell High School. On August 20, 1954, Keith married Darla Jean Hood in Blackwell. His job as an oilfield driller for Jenkins & Ray aspired his lifelong passion for the Oil and Gas Industry. He founded Keith Jeffries Tank Truck Service in 1965. He also started independently farming which later became JAC Farms. In 1976, Keith and Darla began Ladybug Oil Company. His wife preceded him in death on April 11, 2003. Aside from raising a family and his growing businesses, Keith was nationally involved with Ponies of America Club and held different offices throughout his many years of dedication. Locally, he was involved in the School Board, Coop Board, Cattleman’s Association, Elks Lodge and was recognized as an Honorary Chapter Farmer by the Blackwell FFA Chapter.

On May 27, 2006, Keith married Shirley Ruth Shelton of Blackwell. Over the past eleven years together, they continued to manage the oil business’, operate JAC Farms and run a small cow/calf operation.

Keith is survived by Shirley Jeffries, of the home; two sisters, Beulah May Johns of Blackwell and Merle Ann Brown of Tulsa; three sons, E.R. “Corkie” Jeffries and wife Linda of Carney, Keith Allen Jeffries and wife Teresa of Ponca City, and Jody Jeffries of Shawnee; three step-sons, Lee Jay Sewell of McAllen, Texas, Bart Sewell of Ponca City and Jerome Sewell of London, Arkansas. Keith is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Keith Choate; two brothers, Neil Ray Jeffries and Lee Allen Jeffries, and five sisters, Opal, Pearl, Mary, Geraldine and Ruby.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 3rd in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. George Brock officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Lyman Urban, Kurt Fast, Stacy Simunek, Rick North, Bob Lively, Tracy Tebow and Harland Overman. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Ed Urban, Joe Bersche, Larry Shields, Danny Shields, Gary Potter, Dean Hall, Max Smyth, Brad Evans, Fred Harraman and Larry Purdy.

A memorial has been established in his honor the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
