August 27, 1943 - April 2, 2023

Kay Marie Hoecker, Ponca City resident, died on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at her home. She was 79.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7th at St. John's Lutheran Church, NE of Blackwell with Rev. Mark A. Mozeik officiating. Burial will follow at Blackwell Cemetery, under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.

Kay Marie Myers was born on August 27th, 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska to Harold and Daisy (Plummer) Myers. Kay graduated from Omaha North High School and went to work as a switchboard operator and trainer for Bell Telephone up until marriage. Kay Marie married Rev. Paul M. Hoecker on August 3rd, 1968 at Pearl Memorial United Methodist Church in Omaha, NE. They celebrated 51 years of marriage August 3rd, 2019.

Kay Marie worked as a receptionist for many different companies while Paul was training for the ministry and pastoring churches in Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Illinois. Kay Marie was a proud member and served as the National President of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War for the 1985 term. Kay Marie enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, playing at card parties with close friends, and was a constant reader of books. She will be greatly missed in the lives of many.

Kay Marie was predeceased by her parents and her husband. Kay Marie is survived by her two children, Eric (Carrie) Hoecker of Peoria, IL, and Heather Hoecker of Ponca City, and three grandchildren, Kristin (Ben) Stephens of Boston, MA, Nikolas Hoecker of Ponca City, and Vincent Hoecker of Peoria, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, sent in care of the Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
