November 2, 1945 - July 12, 2020

Funeral services for Verda Gable, 75, Enid resident, will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm at World Harvest Church with Pastor Brad Mendenhall officiating.

Committal prayers and interment will follow in Blackwell Cemetery, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stittsworth's.

Verda was born on November 2, 1945 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of William and Flossie (Ward) Gable, and passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her residence. She was raised and educated in Blackwell, graduating from Blackwell High School with the class of 1964. Verda went on to Miracle Valley Bible College and was ordained on May 26, 1968. Verda married Carl Smart and adopted a son, Brian. They moved to Enid where Verda worked for A to Z Carpet. She was very active in church and in her nieces and nephew’s lives. She loved to spread the love of Jesus to everyone she met.

Survivors include her brother, Robert Fisher Blackwell; numerous nieces and nephews.

Verda was preceded in passing by her parents, son, Brian, brothers, Phillip Gable and Ralph Gable, and sisters, Doris Stout and Carol Price.
