December 18, 1926 - April 30, 2019

Nellie Bernice Ellington, 92, went to her eternal home April 30, 2019 with her family by her side at The Renaissance in Stillwater.

She was born December 18, 1926 in Blackwell where she lived until moving to The Renaissance in December 2017. Bernice graduated from Blackwell High School and went on to attend Oklahoma A&M College. She returned to Blackwell and worked at the Smelter and the Mill where she retired. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cake decorating, bowling, snow skiing, and doting on her dogs. In her later years she enjoyed meeting her friends at Braum's and feeding the feral cats in Blackwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Nellie Ellington, two brothers Wendell and Millard, nephew Jim, great niece Misty.

She is survived by a niece Sue Ball of Stillwater, nephew Scott Ellington of McAlester, sister in law Ina Ellington Abels of Stillwater, 7 great nieces and nephews, and many great great nieces and nephews and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Randy Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to your local Animal Shelter or Rescue.
