Barbara A. Dirksen of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018, at her home in Ponca City at the age of 80 years.

Barbara A. Dirksen was born on October 25, 1938, in Blackwell to Bob and Nadine Noel. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School with the Class of 1956. She married Don D. Dirksen on December 1, 1967, and they made their home in Ponca City for fifty years. Don and Barbara owned and operated the Tastee-Freeze in Tonkawa for three years. She then began working for Farm Fresh Dairy for nine years. She later worked as a secretary and office manager Dr. Kever, Dr. Stotts, Dr. Smith and Dr. Kirkpatrick in Ponca City. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ponca City. Barbara enjoyed making quilts, knitting and crochet. She also loved fishing and bowling, but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandsons. Barbara was very kind, generous and thoughtful person. We love you and will miss you a lot.

She is survived by her husband, Don Dirksen of Ponca City; a daughter, Kim Haworth and husband Mike of Ponca City; a son, Kevin Dirksen and wife Linda of Ponca City; a brother, Larry Noel of Ponca City; and two grandsons, Kyle Dirksen and Cory Dirksen of Canton, Illinois.She was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Carrie Haworth.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7th in the Blackwell Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Sweetman of Hospice of North Central Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Honorary casketbearers will be Kyle Dirksen, Cory Dirksen, Caleb Noel, Josh Noel, Randy Jackson, Scott Kirkpatrick, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Tim Haggard, Scott Haggard, Virgil Richardson, Mike Staz, Lonnie Noel and Mike Haworth.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in her honor to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
