Eliza Curtis~ ~ ~ 1874-1945

Mrs. Eliza Curtis Dies, Funeral at 2:30 Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Jane Curtis, 70, who died at her home on East Chrysler, at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, will be held at the Christian Church Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Jack Oliver, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery, under the direction of Porter funeral home.
Mrs. Curtis's death followed a long period of ill health, her condition becoming more critical the past month.
She was born in Mitchell county, N.C. July 14, 1874 and came to Blackwell at the opening of the Cherokee Strip.
Surviving are her husband, William Curtis; five daughters, Mrs. Pearl Hamilton Tharp, Mrs. Mattie Hamilton Bliss and Mrs. May Hamilton King, all of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Rhoda Looney of Tulsa and Mrs. Vellma Fogle Hinmon of Blackwell; one son, William A. Hamilton, Blackwell; one sister, Mrs. Tobe Berieter, Blackwell, and three brothers, Charles K. Shupe, Blackwell, Nate Shupe, Newkirk and Arthur E. Shupe, Peckham.
