Chester LeRoy Cheney Jr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. Chester LeRoy Cheney Jr. was born on December 11, 1942, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Chester LeRoy and Frances Irene (Terpening) Cheney. He attended the St. John’s Catholic Elementary School in Longmont, Colorado, and graduated from Longmont High School. He then attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado. He worked at Neodata in the billing department, retiring in 1998. He loved Elvis and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son, Drake Allen Cheney and family of Tacoma, Washington; two nieces, Tina Walker and family of Canby, Oregon, and Rhonda Newell and family of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother in law, Jim Lewis of Blackwell, Oklahoma; one uncle, Kenneth Cheney of Perry, Oklahoma; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jeanette Lewis; and step father, Edward Koppes.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Herb Berkley, First Nazarene Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating.

A memorial has been established with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
