Bettie Ermine (Sharp) Carr 1879-1969

Service for Bettie Ermine Carr, 90, longtime resident of the Blackwell community who died at the Blackwell Nursing Home at 11:30 p.m. Monday, will be conducted at Roberts and Son Funeral Chapel Wednesday, at 3 p.m. with Rev. John Downs, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.
The body will lie in state prior to the services and the casket will not be opened afterwards. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. Carr was born at Council Grove, Kans., March 8, 1879 and came to Kay County shortly after the opening of the Cherokee Strip, living on a farm northwest of Blackwell. She moved to the city home in 1907. She was a membeer of the Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Inez Bell of the home; a sister, Mrs. Inez Cather, Cushing; and a brother, E.R. Sharp, Wichita.
