Kenneth Allen Beard Jr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, November 20, 2008, the result of an oilfield accident near Braman, Oklahoma, at the age of 26 years.

Kenneth Allen Beard Jr. was born on September 15, 1982, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Allen and Linda Darlene (Campbell) Beard Sr. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School in 2000. While in high school he was active in football, wrestling and baseball. Following his education he worked at various jobs until July of 2007 when he began working for Three D Drilling in Lamont, Oklahoma, where he was working at the time of his death. He enjoyed lake activities including fishing and jet skiing. He also enjoyed playing golf and watching athletics especially the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Linda Beard Sr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a daughter, Kylie Beard of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a son, Hunter Beard of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and his grandparents, John and Lorene Campbell of Blackwell, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Opal Beard.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 24th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Andy Teston of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Serving as casketbearers will be Tommy Grace, Chris Hollis, Justin Campbell, Michael Taylor, Jose Zamudio and Michael Pennington. Honorary casketbearers will be Jeff Boyer, Todd Boyer, Logan Simpson, Tyler Ward, Parker Beard, Kenneth Taylor, Adam Whitehead, George Mora, Zeke Boyer, Dustin Beard and Austin Beard.

A memorial has been established for his children’s education fund in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
