May 21, 1932 - October 15, 2025

JoAnne Bonewell of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on October 15, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years.

JoAnne Bonewell was born on May 21, 1932, in Dodge City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Jo and Wonetta Jones. She grew up in Dodge City, Kansas, Hutchison, Kansas, Seminole, Oklahoma, and in her junior year her family moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma where she graduated Blackwell High School in 1950. On November 4, 1950, she married Marvin Bonewell and they made their home in Blackwell. She worked for Kay Electric for over 30 years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women Association, the Blackwell Bowling League Association, and was an avid Blood Donor and was also a member of the Blackwell Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; one daughter, Anita Rollins; and one son, Phillip Bonewell.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Ryan of Blackwell, and Marva Jones and husband Gary of Blackwell; one son, Dennis Bonewell and wife Tracee of Blackwell; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in her memory with the Oklahoma Blood Institute c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Blackwell Cemetery, with Rev. Mark Meador of First Baptist Church officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm and Monday from 8:30 am till 10:00 am.
