Robert Austin of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away at Alliance Health Blackwell on January 30, 2016 at the age of 58 years. Robert Lynn Austin was born on September 24, 1957 in Okarche, Oklahoma to Albert Frank and Shirley June (Nix) Austin. Robert graduated from Geary High School in 1975 and went on to attend Canadian County VoTech where he studied small engines. Robert began his career working in Hinton, Oklahoma, where he built modular homes for several years before working for Nemaha Oil and Gas. He married Pearl Cummins in 2005 and they made their home in Blackwell. Robert enjoyed motorcycles, watching shows on television, and going to flea markets with his wife. He was a member of the Blackwell Flea Market Board and enjoyed spending his weekend attending flea markets all over Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Austin of Blackwell; his parents, Frank and Shirley Austin of Geary, Oklahoma; three daughters, Stephanie Buchannan of Geary, Oklahoma, Stacey Najera of Blackwell, and Christine Kubic and husband Jason of Ponca City; a son, Jim Humphrey, and wife Crystal of California; a sister, Pamela Sue Hahn of El Reno, Oklahoma; one brother, John Russell of Calumet, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents; Joyce Lynn and Willy Maud Nix; paternal grandparents; Robert Lee and Ruth O. Austin; a brother-in-law, James Hahn; and a son-in-law, Javier Najera.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5th in the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Tener of Newkirk officiating. The family will be hosting a reception at the Blackwell Top of Oklahoma Historical Museum following the services. Casketbearers will be Jason Kubic, Martin Calderon Jr., Tom Eakins, Benjamin Blane, Nathan Humphrey, Joey Humphrey and Jim Humphrey.

Robert will miss his girls at Shepard’s on South Main Street.
