Moetta E. Alexander of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, in Norman at the age of 85 years.

Moetta E. Alexander was born on August 9, 1932, in Okeene, Oklahoma, to Jim and Nora Hockett. She married Richard E. “Dick” Alexander on December 26, 1952, in Tonkawa. She worked for Boeing Aircraft. The couple later moved to Grove, Oklahoma, to make their home. Her husband preceded her in death on June 17, 2005, and she later moved to Norman to be near family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time on Grand Lake with her many family members.

She is survived by two sons, Darren Alexander and wife Lana of Norman, and Ricky Alexander and wife Carol of Knoxville, Tennessee; two brothers, Chet Hockett and loving companion Loretta of Wichita, Kansas, and Troy Hockett and wife Wanda of Blackwell; a sister, Alice Schmitt and husband Ed of Blackwell; grandchildren, Evan and Lauren Alexander of Knoxville, Brandon Alexander of Norman, and Kacia Robison and husband Brian of Durant; great grandchildren, Gunner Alexander of Norman, and Hoyt Robison of Durant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Cecil and J. L. Hockett.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 22nd in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Jerry Drewery of Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Family will be present for visitation on Monday, May 21st, from 7pm to 8pm at Roberts and Son Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Derrel Day, Brandon Alexander, Greg Roberts, Gyvin Hargis, Evan Alexander and Jeff Nusz. Honorary casketbearers will be Hoyt Robison and Gunner Alexander.

Memorials have been established in her honor with the Oklahoma Quilters Association or the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
