Ina Lee Ellington Abels was born April 18, 1925 in Vernon, Texas to Oscar and Trena Moore. She went home to be with God on September 30, 2020 at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 95.

When she was 14, her family moved to Ardmore, OK where she graduated from high school in 1942. She then moved to Blackwell in 1943. Ina always considered Blackwell her home. In 1946, she married Millard Ellington in Blackwell. In 1955, she went to Germany to be with Millard who was in the army. They returned to Blackwell in 1961, later moved to Stilwater, and then back to Blackwell. In 1981, Millard passed away and in 1995, she married Graydon Abels. She then moved to Ashland, OH and then to Munice, IN. She moved to Stillwater in 2010.

Ina loved sewing, reading, traveling, and playing cards and games. She was also very active in whatever church she was a member of at the time.

Her mother taught her friends are gold, friends can be as close as family, and you can never have too many friends! She loved God, her family, friends, and ALL children and babies. Ina impacted the life of everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and sons Jim in 2012, Scott in 2020.

She is survived by her daughter Sue Ball of Stillwater, her “bonus” children Alice (Kerry) Morris of New York, Jay (Cathy) Abels of Texas, Jack (Kathy) Abels of Alabama, Tim (Chris) Abels of Oregon, Tom (Orianna) Abels of Indiana, and “other” daughter Anna Baker Turner of Ohio. She had 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Blackwell Cemetery in the outdoor chapel. Tom and Jay Abels will officiate. Burial will follow in Blackwell Cemetery. Masks are optional, however social distancing is encouraged.
