Ella Gail Mayfield passed away on Sunday morning, April 9, 2017, at the age of 64 years in Norman, OK.

Gail was born on October 25, 1952 in Stillwater, OK, to Warren Paul Mayfield and Opal Tisdell Mayfield. Gail lived her early years in Duncan, Enid, and Oklahoma City. Later, she lived outside Ada, Oklahoma at McCall's Chapel School and in Shawnee, OK with her family. Much of her adult life she lived in Norman, Oklahoma at ABLE Group Home for 21 years and later at her private residence in Norman with a caretaker. Later, she lived in Boone, NC from 2010 to 2014 before returning to Norman. Gail attended Garfield School in Enid, OK for one year as a child. She attended McCall's Chapel Residential School from 1962 to 1967 and again from 1969 to 1987. Gail worked at ABLE Workshop in Norman, OK from 1987 to 2008. During her years in Boone, NC, Gail was supported by United Cerebral Palsy of North Carolina and Virginia. She lived in a private residence with a UCP care giver. Gail was an active member of Westside Baptist Church in Villas, NC. Gail attended classes and participated in community activities through Watauga Opportunities, Inc. Gail was a beloved and special person, adored by her family, many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many, many friends. She loved music, church and going to concerts and watching her favorite DVD's. Her life brought laughter and joy to people who knew her.

Gail is survived by her parents, Warren and Opal Mayfield of Moore, OK, her brother, Gary Mayfield of Moore, OK, and two sisters, Susan Mayfield Pogoloff and husband Kevin of Boone, North Carolina, and Teresa Bartlett and husband Walter of Tishomingo, OK., nephews and nieces, along with many friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister Jessica and great-nephew Abel Paul Crawford.

Services are being held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

Burial will follow at Troy Cemetery, Troy, Oklahoma.
