Clark's Funeral Service

Services for Mrs. Martha Merlene Jarman, 81, of Ardmore, Oklahoma (formerly longtime Johnston County resident) will be held on Monday, June 15th, 2015 at 10:00 a. m. in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel in Tishomingo, Oklahoma with Rev. Michael Dye officiating. Interment will follow in the Troy Cemetery. Mrs. Jarman passed away on Thursday, June 11th, 2015 at the Elmbrook Nursing Home in Ardmore. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm at the funeral home.

Merlene was born on November 28th, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Thomas Calvin Reed and Josie Lourinda (Lofton) Reed. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School and worked for many years for A T & T, before retiring as an engineer. Merlene married Brice "Jack" Jarman on January 17th, 1975 in San Antonio, Texas and they moved to Johnston County in 1978. They owned a farm/ranch operation north of Tishomingo for many years until they retired and moved into town. Mr. Jarman preceded her in death on May 19th, 2013. Mrs. Jarman was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronald Smith, her sister, Melva Warren and a grandson.

Mrs. Jarman is survived by two daughters, Deborah Payne and Jamie Gassner, both of Ardmore, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
