Mr. Clark was born June 15, 1906, at Tishomingo, I.T., and died October 11, 1991, following a brief illness.
He was the son of Joseph H. and Carrie Bell Holland Clark. Mr. Clark attended Murray College and was the first president of Murray College Former Students Association and the Rotary Club of Tishomingo. He married the former Elnora Martin in 1929 in Ardmore. He was a member of the Tishomingo Lions Club and was a past president and member of the Tishomingo School Board and the Plainview School Board. Mr. Clark had worked 17 years for OG&E before resigning to establish the Joe F. Clark Electric Company I 1950 when he moved to Ardmore from Tishomingo. He had been a Master Mason for 62 years, being elected Master Mason of the Sulphur Lodge in 1932. Mr. Clark was also a 32nd degree Mason and certified lecturer. A member of First Baptist Church in Ardmore, he was past president of the Worth Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elnora Clark of the home in Ardmore; two sons, Joe L. Clark of Weatherford, Texas, and Robert A. Clark of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kerney of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Tishomingo City Cemetery under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were John Jones, Roy Shipman, R.L. Williams, Lennis McClenny, Jack Smith, and Wayne Merritt. Honorary bearers were members of the Worth Bible Class.
