Luis was born to Patricio Delatorre and Carmen Manquero Delatorre, on January 20, 1946, in Coahuila, Mexico.  He was raised in Mexico on the family Zaragoza Ranch (referred in Mexico as El Rancho Zaragoza).  He served in the Mexican Army before coming to America in 1970.  Luis married the love of his life, Virgie Mae Turner on June 26, 1970, in Madill.  She preceded him in death on August 18, 2019.
