Tommy Murl Brooks, age 81, a Wapanucka, OK resident, was born on Thursday, October 5, 1944, to Robert and Jennie Lee (Hilton) Brooks, at Connerville, OK. He passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Atoka, OK.

He attended Connerville and Pontotoc Schools before graduating from Tishomingo High School. Tommy was a bus driver for Trailways and The Greyhound. He proudly served his country in The United States Army where he fought in the Vietnamese war. He was a recipient of a Purple Heart and multiple medals. Tommy married Kelli Denise Hilburn on Monday, December 28th, 2015 at  Kelli's mother's home in Bromide, Oklahoma. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wapanucka. He enjoyed hunting, bailing hay, spending time with all of his family, going on fishing trips and vacations, Colorado especially, and loved seeing the outdoors. Tommy was a very adventurous outdoorsman.


He is survived by his wife, Kelli Denise Brooks of the home in Atoka, OK; special granddaughter, Kynzlie Hilburn of the home; stepsons, Travis Hilburn and wife Ashly of Caddo, OK, Bryan Hilburn and partner Crystal Eubanks of Wapanucka, OK; step grandchildren, Zane Hilburn, Faith Hilburn, Grace Hilburn of Caddo, OK, Carter Hilburn, Mia Hilburn of Wapanucka, OK; sisters, Joe Burns of Newcastle, OK, Christine Phelps of Ada, OK; sisters in law, Kim Wood of Ada, OK, Kristi Green of Bromide, OK; brothers in law, Steve Foster and wife Lisa of Bromide, OK, Stacy Foster and wife Kim of Bromide, OK; special nephew, Jackie Brooks and wife Vickie of Connerville, OK; Along with many other dearly loved nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. 


Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jennie Lee (Hilton) Brooks; brothers, JD Gross, Haskell Brooks, Ted Brooks, Jackie D. Brooks, Carl Brooks; sisters, Phyllis Nelson, Sybil Garrison, Bobbie Morrison ******************************************************************************
