Edward Wayne “Ed” Lenard, 77, passed from this life on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was born on December 1, 1948, in Milburn, Oklahoma, to James Virgil and Dorothy Serena (Duncan) Lenard. Ed grew up in Milburn, where he attended Milburn High School. On June 24, 1966, he married Linda Carol LaBruzzi in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Together, Ed and Linda built a life centered around family, hard work, and the simple things that brought them happiness. Throughout his working years, Ed held several jobs, including working in the dairy industry and for Joe Brown. He later began what would become a long career with Pennsylvania Glass and Sand, now U.S. Silica. Ed spent 43 years in the silica mining industry before retiring. After a lifetime of hard work, retirement was something Ed was especially excited about and thoroughly enjoyed. Ed was a man who knew how to work hard, but he also knew how to enjoy life. He loved hunting and could rarely pass up a good yard sale or auction. He enjoyed the “dog trade” and could often be found visiting with friends and drinking coffee at Cousins Food Depot. At home, Ed enjoyed tending to his cows and horse and simply spending time doing the things he loved. He also had a talent that might have surprised some—Ed could bake some of the best cakes around. Whether he was checking on his livestock, making a deal, visiting over a cup of coffee, or baking a cake for those he loved, Ed found enjoyment in the everyday moments of life. Above everything else, the greatest highlights of Ed’s life were his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and the time he spent with them meant more to him than anything else. Through the way he lived his own life, Ed taught his family lessons they will carry with them for generations: love deeply, work hard, enjoy life, and never give up, no matter what obstacle stands in your way. His determination, work ethic, love for his family, and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Carol Lenard; his parents, James Virgil and Dorothy Serena Lenard; paternal grandparents, James Luther and Ann M. (Wheeler) Lenard; maternal grandparents, James W. and Addie (McMurtney) Duncan; sister, Lanora Ratliff; brother, Kenneth “Jack” Lenard; and grandson, Cody Lenard.

Those left to cherish Ed’s memory include his son, Teddy Lenard and wife Misty; daughters, Tammy Rhea and husband Joe, and Tina Martino; sisters, Emma Jean Grundy and Edna Faye Zornes; brother-in-law, G.L. Ratliff; grandchildren, Kristen and Kyle Potter, Jordan and Kaela Rhea, Shayna Lenard and Logan Thomison, Colton “Little Ed” Lenard, and Alex Martino; great-grandchildren, Greyson and Hannah Potter, Sturgill and Sawyer Rhea, Morgan, Kiri, Emily, Zaden, Zalen, and Harper Lenard; along with a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Ed’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mill Creek, Oklahoma, with Pastor Jon Smith officiating.

Interment will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery.

A family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
